I'm actually going to be taking the Body Type Prescription class this Saturday. I'm super EXCITED. Sorry, if you don't live in Phoenix, but I would highly recommend something to this effect in your city. I will give you an update later on how it all went.

-So, yesterday I went to another knitting class. I know, I keep mentioning the knitting. But come on! It's really cool! You know to like old grannies and stuff. I promise I won't ALWAYS keep talking about knitting. Maybe. So, we went and had tons of fun doing the knitting and stuff, and I'm really pleased with myself. I mean, I have a long way to go don't get me wrong, but to know that one day I will be able to make a scarf or a blanket, or maybe even a bikini just makes me grin from ear to ear!

-"500 Days of Summer". Super cute movie. With super cute characters. Pretty sure I want to be Zooey Deschanel she's just too cute for her own good and I want to punch her. You know like you do with teddy bears when you they are so effing adorable you have to punch them in the face so you wont spoil them. Have you ever tried punching a teddy bear in the face? It hurts me a little inside. She's definitely bringing back the hair ribbon though. I mean the last time I saw the hair ribbon being rocked was from "Matilda". She's doing it justice. Can we talk about Joseph Gordon-Levitt? I loved this fool since "Angels in the Outfield" one of my all time favs! He's so handsome in his sweater vest. Between Zooey's ribbon and Joseph's sweater vest they = adorable. Go watch it!

That's it. I'm done. I hope I sprinkled some happiness your way.

What's getting you happy this week? :)

Knitting Is Neat

I haven't posted anything for awhile. My apologizes. Been kinda slacking.

Let's catch up shall we? Alrighty then.

Last week was like any other week, went to work, went home, went to sleep, started back over again right? Not so much.
Thursday morning the basement of our office building caught on fire and we had to be evacuated and all the hub bub that went along with that. Work let out an noon.

Half day FTW.

So, I went home planning on taking a nap or watching tv. something un eventul like that. Found out the Mother in law and sis in law were going to a yarn store to get some inspiration and motivation since the knitting disaster last time left us hopeless. We hadn't touch our needles and yarn for over a week.

I tagged along as not to discourage them. I mean it was MY idea after all to get inot this new hobby of ours. So, we met a very helpful store clerk who answered all of our annoying questions about yarn and needles. Suggested certain things over others. It was all quite pleasent. She also let us in on a little secret. Bamboo needless are the shit. Like for reals. So, the M.I.L took those bad boys out for test drive and the store clerk was kindly offering advice when she saw the M.I.L cast on she paused. It went a little something like this:

MIL- "What?"
Store clerk- "Let me see how your casting on again.'

( MIL shows her again.)

Store Clerk- "Oh, no, no, no, noooo. You don't want to do that, that's how you get holes, and drop stitches."
MIL- *Jaw is dropped* *Has look of death*
Store Clerk- "No. This is how you do it. That way is not our friend."

This store clerk probably taught us more then that stupid teacher at Jo-Ann's did, and it was for FREE!! Sometimes. I just want hurt people. Or in this case, hug them really hard. I mean, we were like this close to giving up! And to think this whole time we thought that we sucked.

Then the store clerk said a little ryhme that i can't remember right now and we were all merry and jolly.

I went home and I was like whoa. These bamboo needles rock my socks. I was able to do this!

Aren't you proud of me?!
I'm knitting! Like for realsies knitting, none of this mansy pansy stuff. I was rockin that shiz hardcore. This my friends, is a dish rag. Uh-huh. Im eco friendly and bat shit insane. I have probably spent 8 hours on this thing. And you know what? It was worth it! I actually followed through and was able to complete a project.

Kinda.

Im not done yet.

But when I do. I first heard of her from "Juno". She's featured on the soundtrack. She's delighful to listen to. Really! Sing- a-long to "I Don't Blame You" *Cat Power's Video

7.) Yael Naim. I can't help but love Yael Naim. This song is begging for people to hold hands and run in the fields. I would be one of those people. She's amazing. Rock her song with the windows down OK? Her song is "New Soul". *Yael Naim's Video

8.) The Kooks. If I had to give a dime for every song I wanted to listen to, I would be giving my change up for this song right hurr! There is something about this tune that makes me want to walk the streets at a late hour on wet pavement feeling bad ass. It feels like it sometimes though. My in- laws live on a one acre lot where, in the past have raised cows, pot bellied pigs, chickens, sheep, horses, and one goose and a duck. Now, they only have one cow and two goats. I will be truly sad when he goes to visit the Big Guy up in the sky or prairie... which ever comes first. Yes, that's right, we're going to eat Tofu. At least he's home grown! Believe me. I told the hubby and the in- laws I wasn't going to eat him, in order to respect his memory. They said that if I didn't, I would be dishonoring it. Uh. I still don't know. I guess I'll decide when the time comes. These two adorable critters are the Pygmy goats. You know help him enjoy his stay before the big day. Either way they are hilarious to chase and they run like they have sticks up their butt. My dog Lulu loves these guys!

Hopefully, I can convince the in-laws to get horses again. This is where we get to know one another.

I have a few slight obsessions that I probably shouldn't admit on the internet. However, they make my world, that much brighter.

For instance: the color pink, Pugs, giraffes, VW Beetles, polka dots...but nothing gets me like Hello Kitty.

I have this SICK obsession with a cat with no mouth. I really don't know what it is about her that makes me want to buy every single thing Sanrio has created since she was born. (1974)

My very kind and sweet husband knew what he was getting himself into before the nuptials so he has grinned and bared it, and has supported most of my infatuation for this kitty.

So, why not share the wealth? I know there is A LOT of crazy Hello Kitty things out there, and my obsessions are not as crazy... well, you will have to see for yourself. The very last one of my "possessions" might surprise you.

I'm about to show you some things that I actually have purchased or have been given to me. Please, don't judge. This a very serious disorder that has been taking over my life since 2002.

Let the fun begain...

I got this bad boy at a day after Christmas sale at Target. -You know the other store besides Sanrio that pimps out Hello Kitty. My hubby HATES this toaster with every fiber of his being. His complaint? He says that it's not really toast, if the middle is not toasted as well. Minor details my friend. Whatevs... he just doesn't want me to be happy. I hope to collect the waffle maker, coffee maker ( I don't drink coffee) and water dispenser.

This was my all time favorite. I felt soo cool riding around town with my Hello Kitty seat covers. Of course living in AZ the sun takes a toll on them and I had to throw them out. So, I did Hello Kitty! This took about and hour to draw out and a hour to carve. My best acomplishment yet. Yeah, that's what I'm going to call it. I had a chance to really think about what I want from this blog and what I want to bring to you all.

As I settle in and get cozy again, I hope you enjoy the journey with me.

Since I have been gone for a couple of weeks I'm going to re-cap all the joyous things I have been up to.

-Knitting. So, my MIL (Mother in law) and SIL (Sister in law) went on our happy way to "Jo-Ann's" for our very first knitting class. I was anxious and really excited because I really wanted to succeed at this new craft and show off to the hubby. So, we went to our "classroom" which was just a blocked off part of the store where they held all of their arts and crafts classes and met our teacher for the evening. I can't tell you her name, because frankly she didn't tell us. Yup, how is that for a great teacher? To be kind she was only teaching us 3 for 2 and half hours but still. What was I supposed to call her? "Um... hey teacher lady with the purple stick things... can you help me do that thing again... you know the thing that's the name of that one hard rock band?" (Slipknot) Anyway, she was a crappy teacher that has been knitting for over40 years but yet couldn't show us how to hold our needles and answer most of our questions. SIL was super irritated and I think it ruined the rest of her night. Big waste of $35 if you ask me. My MIL taught me better and she learned from youtube. If I didn't have any lick of practice beforehand I would of had NO IDEA how to do anything. However bad the experience was i felt accomplished that I went outside my comfort zone and took a class I usually wouldn't do. I'm still practicing, maybe I will knit myself a sweet scarf before Christmas. My poor MIL has been so frustrated since the class, she would go back on youtube to learn more. Becuase like the internet, youtube can show you everything. When I finally found out the real reason why she wanted to learn how to knit so bad was not to knit a warm Afgan. . No, it was because she wanted to be prepared when she has "gran'babies".

Hint, hint, hint...

And I'm like..."uhhhhhh...."

So yeah... MIL you will be waiting awhile. Sorry. -Hey, I'm giving her time to perfect her new skills.

-House? The hubby and I have been looking casually for houses for awhile now, and now that we know how much we could be pre-approved for, we have been taking it a little bit more serious. So, hopefully our really nice and patient realitor will show us some houses that are in our price range. I'm super happy that we can even buy another house considering we already have one. You gotta love loans and getting into debt. Yay! Hopefully I'm not jinxing all of this too, by telling you all this. I'm really superstitious when it come to this stuff. Send us good vibes. Lulu needs a new backyard to run around in.

-Losing weight. So, I decided that I'm not in the most tip-top shape right now. I'm probably the heaviest I have been. Ever. My goal weight is about 25 pounds lighter then I'am right now... I know throw shoes, dung, tomatoes or whatever at me. But this has been weighing down on my heart and I have been beating myself up about it for sometime. I'm going to start counting calories, drinking more water, less soda and keeping track of my portions. Oh, and the treadmill. It will be my new best friend. I'm not gonna go crazy on it or anything. I'm not going to be like, " Whew, I just ran 20 miles on my treadmill and boy, do I feel AMAZING!!" I doubt I can even drive for 20 miles. ( I HATE DRIVING) Baby steps. Walking that will turn into fast walking until I get to the obligated jogging/running point of my work out. Then I'll start holding my breath, becuase that's what you do when you get to the point where you want to die, and then I'll stop. I think I'll keep up this routine for about a day. Si se pueda! So, let's hold hands and be friends again. We can lose this weight together! OK. Just kidding. Don't start throwing knives at me.

So, that's all I got.

Let me know what you're up to. I sure did miss you friends.

Music I Love Right Now...

I'm a very influenced by music.I rely on music like people rely on a boat to get them back to shore. It carries me through life, helping me find my way. It helped me cope through the hardest times.Help me remember the good ones. As CCS said it best, "Music Is My Boyfriend".

Just kidding, hubs.

Anyway, as my way of giving back to the world. This song was free from iTunes, along with the other ones on the "Indie Spotlight Rock/Alternative" album. Instead I was wearing jeans and t-shirt and praying to God that no one would laugh at me. I soon realized a lot of my classmates were not in cap and gown either. Yay! I was not alone. But I was so uncomfortable and was hating the situation. Most like every other high school dream I have. Where I'm ALWAYS running late to class and I have no IDEA where my next class is. When I woke up, I still had that same empty feeling lingering as one usually does when they have a very emotional dream. I think you may know where I'm going with this, kids.

My high school reunion is in 5 years.

Yeep!

I know, I know. I shouldn't really be worrying about it. I'm not even sure if I will go. But to know that it's only 5 short years away really freaks me out. Have I done all the things I have wanted to by then? Or am I even half way there?

No, and no.

In high school, I was not popular at all. I was in the "hey, I know of you, but you're still a nobody to me..." kinda clique. I'm not going to complain. I was never bullied, I never had to eat alone, and I always had a blast with my friends. I wasn't one of those people who hated high school and wasn't clawing my way out by the end of senior year.
We were the type to sing "Give It Up" by The Format on the top of our lungs when we were driving home in the summer heat.
I was the one who ran to my best friends as soon as the caps hit the ground and hugged them with all my might, with hot tears streaming down my face. So many emotions went through me at that moment that I couldn't do anything else but cry. And then laugh at how finally we were graduated and we could finally start our life.

Of course, I would still like to see how all the popular kids turned out. How fat they got, how bitchy they still are... you know things like that.

I do plan on having a kid or two around that time. I plan to have a great house, a stable life and a loving and healthy family. That's all I could really ask for. That's what I'm really looking forward to. A lot of happy memories in the near future.

So, I'm taking this dream as a reminder to not forget to work for what I want. To be happy in the now. And who cares if I don't have a butt load of money, or fancy cars, and a cutting edge career. - That stuff is over rated anyway! I will have my friends and family to keep me company on this wonderful journey called life.

Thing's That Make Me Happy Right Now...

1. I would really like to start up a clothing line for cute and adorable T-shirts for young adults. They would be sorta trendy. I mean they have to sell right? Reasonably priced, and fit all sizes.

Now. The question is what's holding me back? The creating part. The money part. The fact that I won't succeed part. Oh, yeah that part.

It's one thing to be creative. But you can't forget about the like-ablity of your product as well. I have a few ideas. I talked with a friend who actually does this kind of stuff for a living. It's not as complex as it may seem. As I try to figure out how to start his wonderful journey, I'll be sure to let you all in on the secret. I would love more then anything to have someone be completely happy with what I created. So. I'm going to write something I have told many times before, because 1.) It's very important to me and 2.) No one believes me.

On January 14, 2008 my husband asked me to marry him. On February 2, 2008 we got married. That's right kids, if you can add, and I hope you can, our engagement lasted a whole 18 days! (Actually 16 days, but I will get to that later.) So, now you are probably thinking, "Hm. Was this a shot gun wedding?" The answer is no. My brilliant husband thought I would turn into one of those crazy Bridezilla's and go completely crazy and order a Oreo cookie wedding cake. Hey-I ain't above it. After we re-assured my mom, my hubby's mom, my best friend, my co- workers and everyone else who thought i was pregnant that i wasn't... it was pretty much the most chaotic week in a half of my life. We had to plan and organize 3 things a night, all the way up to the big day.We walked around like zombies from the lack of sleep, and I kept dreaming that I was going to be late for the wedding or that i forgot what day the wedding was on. Most nights I would wake up with a cold sweat and sheets clenched in my hands. Friends. I don't recommend getting that fast. Not even a little bit. Sometimes I regret doing it so fast-that's what she said... when I hear about women planning out their luxurious wedding plans, picking out their bridesmaids dresses at some cute boutique on Main st. -Yeah, I bought mine from Target. com. (Free shipping) I sometimes wonder how it would be if I did have the $10,000 wedding at my disposal. I would probably look something like this. So, maybe my hubby did know better. Well, as if planning a wedding less then a fortnight wasn't enough, our Reverend got sick the morning of the wedding. You know who else got sick? The groom! Well, good thing we got married 2 days before, huh? Did i lose you? Sorry. Hoo-kay... I'll let you all in on a little secret. Not even my best friend knows this... aren't you special? The hubby wanted us to exchange our vows, just the two of us on our actual anniversary of our first date, January 31st. Well, that day was on a Thursday. So, we thought we would be all cute and romantic and get married in the courtesy of our own home where we were relaxed and shared so many good memories. Where we would eventually raise or family... blah, blah, blah. You have my permission to barf now. Anyhoo, we called our good friend the Rev to marry us in our living room. On the floor. In front of my hubby's best friend and the Rev's wife. Our two witnesses. It was great. We took pics, signed papers, kissed and hugged and went out to dinner. Well, let's just say our fake wedding was the exact opposite! I woke up to the sound of my hubby barfing his Tom's BBQ out at 2a.m in the morning of February 2nd. And you can't say it was nerves, because we were already marred. No, he had the stomach flu. Yay! We were really close to calling off the wedding because at this point he was glued to the bathroom floor. And hey, we were already married!! So, like the good wife that I'am, I comforted my husband and held his hair back and everything. We ended up going through with Wedding No.2 having a ceremony that was only 5min long, I kid you not. Poor guy was pale as a ghost and i swear he was going to puke on me right before he kissed me for the "first time" as man and wife. So you are probably wondering who married us huh? My father in-law of course!! I mean, we were already married, what did we care? We just told them the Rev signed all that shiz earlier and we were good to go! So, our Wedding's were a success and all's well that end's well. And people keep telling me, "The worse the wedding, better the marriage."

Well, I guess I'm just going to have to find out...

Hello World!

I really don't know any other way to start this other then to introduce myself, and give you a little peek into my life.

I'm 23, married, and live I live in Phoenix, AZ where the best way to describe the heat is"Hot as Balls". I was born and raised here and I could never leave this spicy hell I call home. If it wasn't for the 114 degree temperatures I'm pretty sure everyone and their babies mamma mamma would be up and hurr. (Yeah, that's right, I can be ghetto at times. Please, just roll with it.) For the record I did have an adorable house in a adorable neighborhood, but as the crime rate escalated so did my husbands and mines arguments. We decided, in the long term, we wouldn't want to raise our children in that area and moved back home to Mesa, a smaller city on the east side to be closer with family and friends. So, what do you do when have your house rented out to renters and the economy is soo poopy you can't sell your house? You shack up with the parentals. That's what! Please stay tuned, where only insanity can ensue. -In all seriousness though, I love-age them and they are the best secondary parents I could ever ask for. Say it with me now. Awwwwwwww.....
Anyway, back at the ranch.... I work at a non-profit in Phoenix that deals with music. How's that for discreet? To say the least I have learned a lot about classical music, that I care to know. But let's be honest. Phoenix is lacking the culture and no one seems to notice or care. Come on Phoenicians let's give San Fran a run for their money!
My family also consists of a 8 month old pug named LuLu, and from time to time I'll update her corner with cute or not so cute things she does. Just for fun, let's pretend that you really care.

Well, if there's anything else you would like to know about me that doesn't get answered in the 3 lists below, please feel free to holla at me. Let's get the ball rolling shall we?

Random tid bits:
I don't know how to swim. I live in AZ and I have never been to the Grand Canyon.I can read, listen to music and chew gum all at the same time... Go me! I don't like musicals, therefore I have never seen the following:"The Sound of Music", "Annie","Rent", and any other musical that I'm *Missing*out on. Been told I can be ghetto... I can't confirm or deny that allegation. I'm the only child, nuff said.

Things I Lurve: Hello Kitty, the color pink, the smell of a new book, reading slow enough to digest every morsel of an authors words, monsoon season, sketching peoples eyes and giving them dramatic eye lashes, making up scary, sad, funny, and embarrassing scenarios in my head about myself or others, pretending to know how to sing and writing my name over and over on paper to see which type of way I like to sign my name.

Things I want to punch: People with bad manners, hangers on the bedroom floor, driving, the fact that I sound like "Popeye" when I laugh, holding my breath when I want to cry, white girls and gang signs, the chick from the Progressive commercials.
