A Happy List

I just wanted to list off a few things that are making my week a little more bright and happy.

-This blog is my new best friend. I'm actually going to be taking the Body Type Prescription class this Saturday. I'm super EXCITED. Sorry, if you don't live in Phoenix, but I would highly recommend something to this effect in your city. I will give you an update later on how it all went.

-So, yesterday I went to another knitting class. I know, I keep mentioning the knitting. But come on! It's really cool! You know to like old grannies and stuff. I promise I won't ALWAYS keep talking about knitting. Maybe. So, we went and had tons of fun doing the knitting and stuff, and I'm really pleased with myself. I mean, I have a long way to go don't get me wrong, but to know that one day I will be able to make a scarf or a blanket, or maybe even a bikini just makes me grin from ear to ear!

-"500 Days of Summer". Super cute movie. With super cute characters. Pretty sure I want to be Zooey Deschanel she's just too cute for her own good and I want to punch her. You know like you do with teddy bears when you they are so effing adorable you have to punch them in the face so you wont spoil them. Have you ever tried punching a teddy bear in the face? It hurts me a little inside. She's definitely bringing back the hair ribbon though. I mean the last time I saw the hair ribbon being rocked was from "Matilda". She's doing it justice. Can we talk about Joseph Gordon-Levitt? I loved this fool since "Angels in the Outfield" one of my all time favs! He's so handsome in his sweater vest. Between Zooey's ribbon and Joseph's sweater vest they = adorable. Go watch it!

Knitting Is Neat

I haven't posted anything for awhile. My apologizes. Been kinda slacking.

Let's catch up shall we? Alrighty then.

Last week was like any other week, went to work, went home, went to sleep, started back over again right? Not so much.
Thursday morning the basement of our office building caught on fire and we had to be evacuated and all the hub bub that went along with that. Work let out an noon.

Half day FTW.

So, I went home planning on taking a nap or watching tv. something un eventul like that. Found out the Mother in law and sis in law were going to a yarn store to get some inspiration and motivation since the knitting disaster last time left us hopeless. We hadn't touch our needles and yarn for over a week.

I tagged along as not to discourage them. I mean it was MY idea after all to get inot this new hobby of ours. So, we met a very helpful store clerk who answered all of our annoying questions about yarn and needles. Suggested certain things over others. It was all quite pleasent. She also let us in on a little secret. Bamboo needless are the shit. Like for reals. So, the M.I.L took those bad boys out for test drive and the store clerk was kindly offering advice when she saw the M.I.L cast on she paused. It went a little something like this:

MIL- "What?"
Store clerk- "Let me see how your casting on again.'

( MIL shows her again.)

Store Clerk- "Oh, no, no, no, noooo. You don't want to do that, that's how you get holes, and drop stitches."
MIL- *Jaw is dropped* *Has look of death*
Store Clerk- "No. This is how you do it. That way is not our friend."

This store clerk probably taught us more then that stupid teacher at Jo-Ann's did, and it was for FREE!! Sometimes. I just want hurt people. Or in this case, hug them really hard. I mean, we were like this close to giving up! And to think this whole time we thought that we sucked.

Then the store clerk said a little ryhme that i can't remember right now and we were all merry and jolly.

I went home and I was like whoa. These bamboo needles rock my socks. I was able to do this!

I'm knitting! Like for realsies knitting, none of this mansy pansy stuff. I was rockin that shiz hardcore. This my friends, is a dish rag. Uh-huh. Im eco friendly and bat shit insane. I have probably spent 8 hours on this thing. And you know what? It was worth it! I actually followed through and was able to complete a project.

Kinda.

1.) FUN. These handsome gentleman are Fun. I might be a little bias with this one because the silly one in the suspenders (Nate Ruess from The Format) was in my favorite band ever. 3.) Yeah Yeah Yeahs. I love this band. Ever since "Maps", I have been in love. This is a total head nodding and foot stomping kind of song. 9.) Steel Train. I love these fools. They sing from the heart, and send very deep messages. And Jack's voice makes me swoon. "I Feel Weird" has two versions I like. An *acoustic and the *original. I personally like the acoustic, because it feels more intimate, but you decide. Both are brilliant.
10.) Jimmy Eat World. It's hard for me to describe how this song makes me feel. It's so incredible. I need to share this song with you because you deserve it. Please enjoy "23".

My life on the farm

OK, so I really don't live on a farm. It feels like it sometimes though. My in- laws live on a one acre lot where, in the past have raised cows, pot bellied pigs, chickens, sheep, horses, and one goose and a duck. Now, they only have one cow and two goats. I personally wish I was here when all the other animals were frolicking around.


Meet Tofu. He loves to be around people and is seriously like one big goofy dog. He plays with you, he moo's when he wants your attention and has successfully broke free from his large fenced area 3 times. I will be truly sad when he goes to visit the Big Guy up in the sky or prairie... which ever comes first. Yes, that's right, we're going to eat Tofu. At least he's home grown! Believe me. I told the hubby and the in- laws I wasn't going to eat him, in order to respect his memory. They said that if I didn't, I would be dishonoring it. Uh. I still don't know. I guess I'll decide when the time comes.These two adorable critters are the Pygmy goats. The white one is named Tator and the black on is called O' Henry. These two will NOT be eaten, thank-you very much. I really don't know what their purpose is. Maybe to keep Tofu company? You know help him enjoy his stay before the big day. Either way they are hilarious to chase and they run like they have sticks up their butt. My dog Lulu loves these guys!

Hopefully, I can convince the in-laws to get horses again. Becuase that would be awesome.

My first love, Hello Kitty.

OK friends. This is where we get to know one another.

I have a few slight obsessions that I probably shouldn't admit on the internet. However, they make my world, that much brighter.

For instance: the color pink, Pugs, giraffes, VW Beetles, polka dots...but nothing gets me like Hello Kitty.

I have this SICK obsession with a cat with no mouth. I really don't know what it is about her that makes me want to buy every single thing Sanrio has created since she was born. (1974)

My very kind and sweet husband knew what he was getting himself into before the nuptials so he has grinned and bared it, and has supported most of my infatuation for this kitty.

So, why not share the wealth? I know there is A LOT of crazy Hello Kitty things out there, and my obsessions are not as crazy... well, you will have to see for yourself. The very last one of my "possessions" might surprise you.

I'm about to show you some things that I actually have purchased or have been given to me. Please, don't judge. This a very serious disorder that has been taking over my life since 2002.

Let the fun begain...

I got this bad boy at a day after Christmas sale at Target. -You know the other store besides Sanrio that pimps out Hello Kitty. My hubby HATES this toaster with every fiber of his being. His complaint? He says that it's not really toast, if the middle is not toasted as well. Minor details my friend. Whatevs... he just doesn't want me to be happy. I hope to collect the waffle maker, coffee maker ( I don't drink coffee) and water dispenser.


This was my all time favorite. I felt soo cool riding around town with my Hello Kitty seat covers. Of course living in AZ the sun takes a toll on them and I had to throw them out. I had the matching steering wheel cover, air freshener, and coffee mug.

Last Halloween I wanted to be really creative with my pumpkin and do something different. So, I did Hello Kitty! This took about and hour to draw out and a hour to carve. My best acomplishment yet. The cute thing is, the hubby spent more time carving and perfecting the pumpkin then me. That is love right there.











Hello Kitty Tattoo. Yes, this is really my tattoo, of Hello Kitty. I love her so much I decided to have her head engraved into my leg as a testament of my love. That bitch better not screw me over...
Finally, since I can't post EVERYTHING I ever owned by this cat I'll leave you with a few CRAZY Hello Kitty items that live out there on the internets. I won't say if I actually will buy these said items... but I'm sure I will want to.

I might learn how to sew now...



So, elegant. I should of saved and got married in this! Kidding!

So, I took a break from the blogging world to "re-group". Yeah, that's what I'm going to call it. I had a chance to really think about what I want from this blog and what I want to bring to you all.

As I settle in and get cozy again, I hope you enjoy the journey with me.

Since I have been gone for a couple of weeks I'm going to re-cap all the joyous things I have been up to.

-Knitting. So, my MIL (Mother in law) and SIL (Sister in law) went on our happy way to "Jo-Ann's" for our very first knitting class. I was anxious and really excited because I really wanted to succeed at this new craft and show off to the hubby. So, we went to our "classroom" which was just a blocked off part of the store where they held all of their arts and crafts classes and met our teacher for the evening. I can't tell you her name, because frankly she didn't tell us. Yup, how is that for a great teacher? To be kind she was only teaching us 3 for 2 and half hours but still. What was I supposed to call her? "Um... hey teacher lady with the purple stick things... can you help me do that thing again... you know the thing that's the name of that one hard rock band?" (Slipknot) Anyway, she was a crappy teacher that has been knitting for over40 years but yet couldn't show us how to hold our needles and answer most of our questions. SIL was super irritated and I think it ruined the rest of her night. Big waste of $35 if you ask me. My MIL taught me better and she learned from youtube. If I didn't have any lick of practice beforehand I would of had NO IDEA how to do anything. However bad the experience was i felt accomplished that I went outside my comfort zone and took a class I usually wouldn't do. I'm still practicing, maybe I will knit myself a sweet scarf before Christmas. My poor MIL has been so frustrated since the class, she would go back on youtube to learn more. Becuase like the internet, youtube can show you everything. When I finally found out the real reason why she wanted to learn how to knit so bad was not to knit a warm Afgan. . No, it was because she wanted to be prepared when she has "gran'babies".

And I'm like..."uhhhhhh...."

So yeah... MIL you will be waiting awhile. Sorry. -Hey, I'm giving her time to perfect her new skills.

-House? The hubby and I have been looking casually for houses for awhile now, and now that we know how much we could be pre-approved for, we have been taking it a little bit more serious. So, hopefully our really nice and patient realitor will show us some houses that are in our price range. I'm super happy that we can even buy another house considering we already have one. You gotta love loans and getting into debt. Yay! Hopefully I'm not jinxing all of this too, by telling you all this. I'm really superstitious when it come to this stuff. Send us good vibes. Lulu needs a new backyard to run around in.

-Losing weight. So, I decided that I'm not in the most tip-top shape right now. I'm probably the heaviest I have been. Ever. My goal weight is about 25 pounds lighter then I'am right now... I know throw shoes, dung, tomatoes or whatever at me. But this has been weighing down on my heart and I have been beating myself up about it for sometime. I'm going to start counting calories, drinking more water, less soda and keeping track of my portions. Oh, and the treadmill. It will be my new best friend. I'm not gonna go crazy on it or anything. I'm not going to be like, " Whew, I just ran 20 miles on my treadmill and boy, do I feel AMAZING!!" I doubt I can even drive for 20 miles. ( I HATE DRIVING) Baby steps. Walking that will turn into fast walking until I get to the obligated jogging/running point of my work out. Then I'll start holding my breath, becuase that's what you do when you get to the point where you want to die, and then I'll stop. I think I'll keep up this routine for about a day. Si se pueda! So, let's hold hands and be friends again. We can lose this weight together! OK. Just kidding. Don't start throwing knives at me.
